One of the great things about my travels so far is the new friends I’ve made. From all around Europe I made new friends, some for just a few days others hopefully for a lifetime. So as I was trying to decide about where to end my travels a certain reader of my blog convinced me to change my plans and head for Italy where they were living. Given I knew the weather was going to be perfect how could I say no to a bit of sun and lots of gelato.
Landing in Florence I met Annie who has now launched her own blog waywardtraveller.com. Getting to hang out with Annie and her boyfriend (Lorenzo) for a few days really made my stay in Florence much more fun, but you can read all about that in a blog post coming soon.
Since then Annie has been off on her own adventures, exploring Spain and Portugal which I must say just cemented the fact I want to travel there next summer *crossing fingers* so if you’re in the area next year I could be landing on your door step, beer in hand.
As well as travelling around Europe she also started a series of posts about Living with an Italian which you have to read. While your there be sure to check out what else she has been up too, you might get a travel idea for yourself.
Annie’s super! Her posts are helping Italy climb on my “places to see list” as it had (and still has) so many before it…but every day it’s climbing. Hope to meet her (and you) in the next couple of years!
Yeah Annie’s champ. Well your interest in Italy will climb even more once I get around to writing about it 🙂 Oh and don’t you worry we’ll be meeting up even if I have to come find you in America.
Aw thanks for the shout-out Chris!! 🙂
Your welcome mate and thanks for all the fun in Florence.
Love the idea. Might do a similar thing next week sometime to plug a few gems.
Thank’s Chris. I started this series long ago but when I began travelling I had less time to read blogs. Now I’m settled in London I’ve brought it back to highlight blogs I love and new ones starting out.
Spain AND Portugal?? this girl goes on my RSS feed list!
Ayngelina I am rather jealous of that trip myself.
Oh, they sound like fun! I’m going to look them up now. You know I have a soft spot for that part of the world!
haha Abby well feel free to come with me next year. I’m going to hopefully sweep across the southern party of Europe come summer time.
Love her posts, so awesome you got to meet her!!!
Yeah Andi it was great fun hanging out, I also caught up with Suzy from suzyguese.com while I was in Florence as well.
Great blog! Thanks for sharing chris!
Thanks Elise, glad I could help get a few more readers going Annie’s way.
Made my day to come back after a few months and read everyone’s comments! Thanks for all the support Chris and all the new followers that your mention got me! Love meeting new people online and in real life!
