My RTW trip was planned out. I knew when I was doing things, when I was going to buy my plane ticket and my backpack etc and lastly when I was finishing up at my work. This is the same for the majority of current #RTWsoon planners as well.
Now Jeannie from nomadicchick.com was in the same basket, that was until her work decided it was time to lay her off. Nothing like throwing a spanner into the works of your preparations.
The good news though is that she’s taken it in her stride and is using the great little severance package to go traveling now instead.
It’s the same for when your out travelling. Some times the unexpected is going to happen and you just have to roll with it. Maybe it will work out in your favor like it seems to be for Jeannie or maybe it wont. Just be prepared for the unexpected on the road and hopefully you will just end up with a funny story to tell later on.
Oh my god, oh my god! I made the Blogger Friday list? YESSSS! This makes my upcoming adventures that much sweeter. 🙂 Thanks, buddy.

haha good on ya Jeannie. Hey your so much closer to being all RTWnow I couldn’t just leave you off the list now could I 🙂
An excellent choice of subjects, as always, Chris! Although I’m a little angry at Jeannie for jumping ahead of me in the #rtwsoon timing! 🙂

haha Joel. It’s ok mate your travelling via bike and none of us can compete with that great effort.
Now, now.. I always planned to be ahead of you. 🙂
Jeannie’s unfortunate circumstances is really the best thing that could happen. That soul sucking job will soon be replaced with amazing adventures.

That’s so right Ayngelina. It’s a great gift to be able to shoot off early and makes for a great story.
It always turns into a funny story! Right before I read your post I was recalling the time I broke my ankle in Peru. At the time it was an absolute nightmare, but now it’s hysterical…

Ouch Andi, breaking your ankle or anything abroad would always be a nightmare. Funny how looking back you just laugh, if only you were there again you sure wouldn’t laugh 🙂
Good choice! Can’t wait to hear Jeannie’s stories from the road.

That makes two of us Keith.
I want to try the Vegemite challenge! I’m taking a cruise to Croatia this summer with all Australians and I want to be able to prove myself!
I’d love to ship you some vegemite Caroline but my ability to buy it over here in Europe sure ain’t easy. Hit up your aussie friends when you get there, you’ll be a pro in no time.
