The Blue Lake in Mount Gambier is something of a local attraction for me as I grew up not to far away. As a kid and adult I’d visit to see the fascinating changes in the colour of the lake. During the summer months of December to March its a beautiful cobalt blue, while during April to November its a far less attractive grey.

St Andrews State Park, Panama City Beach
I took a helicopter ride over Panama City Beach with Panhandle Helicopters while in Florida recently and was greeted with the above as we circled above St Andrews State Park. But the fear was soon forgotten as the beautiful beach and state park appeared […]
Cedar Key Sunset
Many things come and go but I know for certain the sun will rise in the morning and set in the evening. Luckily on my two week road trip across Florida recently I had the chance to admire it on a regular basis. Apalachicola Trinity Episcopal Church
The Apalachicola Trinity Episcopal Church is said to be one of the early prefabricated buildings in America. The original building was constructed in New York before being floated down the Atlantic coast and around the keys into Apalachicola. A commendable effort considering how far that is and that is was all done by sail boats of the time. For me though I just loved the way the morning sun hits […]
Sligachan River, Isle of Skye

The story goes (short version) that if you hold your head under the water for 7 seconds your face will forever stay young and beautiful. Having just splashed the water on my face I can confirm you’ll need some strong will power to keep your face buried […]
Wandering Around Paris
Love it or hate it you’d by hard pressed to deny that spending an afternoon wandering around Paris is a bad thing. It’s the kind of city that presents post card views around every corner. The above was snapped right next to the Sacre Coeur Basilica after I’d taken the long way to get there and was lamenting just how many steps can be found in that part of town.
