Vivonne Bay is considered the best beach in all of Australia after being reviewed by Sydney University covering aspects like water clarity and cleanliness. Having visited I have to admit the long sandy beach and iconic jetty (pictured above) would make for a great afternoon of beach cricket or just laying about in the sun with a picnic. The main attraction for me was the stunning colour of the water, which was also a highlight at Pennington Bay further up the coast.
Gorgeous!!!!!!
Hi there Aussie Nomad!
I’ve just started following your posts as I’m about to get my youth visa and head off on my UK adventure! Thanks for all the brilliant how to’s – making the process of preparing so much easier 🙂
Today I hit your site to find a picture of Vivonne Bay…..as a born and bred Kangaroo Islander I am so happy you’ve had a chance to see our beautiful ‘rock’! Enjoy your time there.
Jodie
Hi Jodie, thanks for the comment and yes I really enjoyed my time on Kangaroo Island. It was only a short visit but managed to get from one end to the other and see a fair bit of the islands attractions.
The Aussie Nomad, I didn’t know that Vivonne Bay is considered the best beach. I’m gonna visit this one in 2013. I can’t wait to have walk-around and picnic under the sun. The view and the water itself are perfect that’s why it is known as such.
Amazing photo. I am going to Oz on a working holiday visa in december. Can’t wait! Will be sure to take a visit.
