Everybody is making videos these days, so while I was in Copenhagen with Cailin from www.travelyourself.ca we made a video of what we got up too. I won’t bore you too much with words because I know your already pressing play on the video but I will say that it was good enough for the BBC Fast Track program to take a snippet of our video and broadcast it. Always […]

Youth Mobility Visa Ultimate Guide
Over 3 years ago I posted about how to apply for a Tier 5 UK Youth Mobility Visa (previously called the working holiday visa) as an Australian. I’d struggled with finding the correct information so thought to share my experience with the world in the hopes it would help somebody else. The response to my posts has been nothing short of amazing since then so to all of you who’ve […]
Read More...Moving To London
Moving to London was more daunting than any other move I’d ever undertaking in my life. Before I’d move to study or relocate to the city because it’s just what you do. But moving 2 hours drive from home or even another state in Australia is nothing compared to moving to London, one the biggest international cities around on the other side of the world. In the interest of helping […]
Read More...Career Advice from Travelling
Career advice from travelling? I know what your thinking but go with me on this for a minute there’s a message in here. Some people look at travel and the people who do it and think WOW aren’t they lucky. Their off seing the Eiffel Tower in Paris, floating around in the Dead Sea or just enjoying a beer somewhere famous and you can’t help but be jealous of them. It’s […]
Read More...Anzac Day at Gallipoli, Turkey
Anzac Day… one of the most solemn days for any Australian or New Zealander as we stop to remember our fallen soldiers at Gallipoli in Turkey during the First World War. The battle at Gallipoli lasted some 8 months between the Anzacs (Australian and New Zealand Army Corps) and the Turkish Ottoman’s who were allied with Germany at the time. On just the Australian side over 8000 lives were lost […]
Read More...Bank Accounts and National Insurance Numbers
Before I planned my big moving to London adventure I was concerned about all the paperwork I’d have to fill out just to work here. Bank Accounts I understood, but the National Insurance Number seemed completely foreign to me. The National Insurance Number (think Tax File Number Australians) is required by your employer and while used for tax purposes it also gets you access to free health services should you […]
Read More...Final Day in Copenhagen
What do you do on your final day in a place when you find yourself a solo traveller again… you go exploring some more of course. Waking a little later than I would have liked the plans were to visit Rosenborg Castle and make my way to the Carlsberg Brewery. Who am I to deny a visit to a brewery?? With my late start already putting me behind I rushed […]
Copenhagen Zoo and Christiania
With all the major Copenhagen attractions out of the way Cailin and myself (ok mainly Cailin) decided to visit the Copenhagen Zoo. Top of the list was to see the Polar Bears as Cailin apparently had never seen them before, even if her mother disagreed with her. Before the Zoo however we stopped into the Hans Christian Andersen Museum and learn’t a little bit about the man and the stories […]
Missing In Action
No I’m not dead… I don’t think and no I haven’t given up this blogging gig. Here’s a little peak at the future so you know what I’m up to before I get back to telling you all about everything I did and saw in Europe. I landed in London some 2-3 weeks ago and with many thanks to Heather from www.theresnoplacelikeoz.com had a job interview waiting for me 2 […]
Featured Photo: Skyline of Riga, Latvia
I’ve taken lots of shots from the top’s of buildings or churches since getting to Europe so its only fitting I share them with you all. This is a photo I took from the Sky Line Bar at the Reval Hotel in Riga, Latvia. The bar while being expensive to buy drinks at does offer an amazing 360 degree view of the city and well worth the stop for just […]
Meeting a Friend in Copenhagen
Sleeping well in a 14 bed dorm where all the beds squeak and not a single bed is spare could have been my biggest challenge yet. I’ve hiked over mountains back home sleeping on nothing but rocks with my sleeping bag for comfort but that was nothing. People snoring, people coming in drunk, people getting up early and playing with their plastic bags etc. There is a reason the room […]
