Blue Lake Mount Gambier

Blue Lake Mount Gambier

The Blue Lake in Mount Gambier is something of a local attraction for me as I grew up not to far away. As a kid and adult I’d visit to see the fascinating changes in the colour of the lake. During the summer months of December to March its a beautiful cobalt blue, while during April to November its a far less attractive grey.

Thanks goyvon, its a great view from the platforms around the lake. You can take tours down to the surface but I’ve never had the chance to do it.

Looks like a great lake and I must admit that I’m jealous of the people who own that house over the lake.

I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw this photo of Blue Lake. I too grew up not far from Mt Gambier, on the border of South Australia and Victoria near a small town called Kaniva. Thanks for the nostalgic look back in time.
