Berlin Building Graffiti
Just a sample of some of the amazing graffiti that adorns so many parts of Berlin. From encompassing entire buildings like the one above, to small pieces scattered along alleys and walkways all across the city.

If your in Berlin, be sure to stop and take some time to check it out. One place I can recommend is Tacheles, a hive of artwork and creativity.

Can it really be called graffiti if they had to set up scaffolding to do it?
Nice mural and a great picture!

Fair point Steve. I’d almost argue it was all artwork to be honest as it didn’t have the hallmark of typical graffiti I’m used too.

    Wonderful mural! I wouldn’t count it as a graffiti=)

Agreed that is beautiful art on a building, but I love that you shared it.

Ayngelina that was just such a small section of what I saw in Berlin. I’m hoping to get back there next summer and spend a day seeking out some more of it all across the city.

Thx Andi, pretty sure I’m long overdue to send you an email so I’ll get onto that.

Tacheles was cool, but there was no semblance to the graffiti. It was as messy as my room. But some of the graffiti artwork on the streets was amazing. Practically museum-worthy. Makes the Mona Lisa look like the work of an elementary school kid.

Jetpacker that’s very true, Tacheles was all over the place. I did enjoy the workshop out the back with various sculptures and the like though.

And your right about the quality of the artwork around the place, really really good stuff. I saw one building that had an astronaut on it and I was told that at night the flag from the car yard next door shines a reflection up like he is holding it.

I’ve always been a fan of graffiti when it’s done as art rather than blatant vandalism. This kind of thing just grabs your attention. Love it!

Chris if your a fan then be sure to stop in Berlin at some point. I just wish it hadn’t rained so much while I was there so I could have seen more.
